Guest NOS'd Ride Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 I had to take my Galaxy in to a ford dealer when it Brokedown whilst away from home. I went to visit family so It went to thier local dealer. Anyway I gave the staff the fault and also the code from the ECU. They new I was away from home and I said I would contact them the next day, I then left it in their hands. The next day I gave them a call and they said the engineer had lokked at it and it would not start, Thats why it was towed to you I said. They said they had been busy and they would look further tomorrow but they said the enginner didn't think it would take long. Next day I phoned again, This time they said they thought it was a fuel shut of valve stuck and they were waiting for a new one in tomorrow. They said it would be in early and that it would be done that afternoon. The following day the rang me and said that it wasn't the fuel valve and that they will have thier master mechacnic look at it. Two hours later He phoned me and said they traced it to a relay following a diagnostic check which gave them a fault code, the very same code I gave them, I said that this information was given to the reception staff and that they wrote it on the docket. He then looked and said "Oh yeah". Anyway he said it was done and ready for collection.I went in paid and went to my car. I could not believe it. The door retainer was left unbolted, There were greasy rags all over the floor. greasy finger prints all over the dash, Tv screns and Headsets, The headsets were all flat too. I went in and asked for the manager to have a look and whilst there also noticed that my colour coded expensive valve caps had all been replaced with cheap new plastic ones. That capped it all off, Pun.... Anyway the manager was astounded himself at the condition of the vehicle, I also explained about the diagnosis and the fact it took three days to trace a relay from a code I already gave them. In short He finally gave in and refunded me two days labour, got them to valet the car but said he could not be responsible for the valve caps as how does he know any were fitted. Never again will I visit ford direct.... Quote
HJT Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Thats appalling B) It's difficult to find a good dealer. I have a big Ford dealer near me who has a terrible reputation and some of the stories I've heard are as bad and worst than yours. But another small Ford dealer near me is a really good, friendly, knowledgable company who have always given excellent service.I think once you find a good one, try to stick with them. Howard Quote
Davetheref Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Who is the main dealer at fault in this? Isn't it better to name and shame them especially if someone else is unlucky enough to visit the same area. Quote
