Absolutely spot on, Pug's much better, the company is so good that when you 407 goes up in smoke due to a fault with the ignition switch pug tell you thats not a fault so you join the other few thousand people this has happened to, fantastic, just what you need. WOULDN'T TOUCH IT WITH A BARGEPOLE, expensive spares, crap customer support and in general pretty NAF Quote

Guest marcusheawood Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 ...Couldn't agree with you more, as far I'm concerned French build quality is rubbish! Pugs may be briefly reliable when new, but give 'em a few years and they quickly implode. Yes there are many high mileage Pug diesels, but then pretty much all modern cars will do 200k if correctly serviced and then you have to factor in the CATASTROPHIC depreciation. Shalaxy is far from perfect, but pretty much everyone agrees that they are the best interpretation of a familys' needs (I still like Grand Espace tho') If you wanna van go buy one! :D ...BTW most Taxi drivers are rude, lazy, fat roadhogs who fanny about at 55 MPH trying to squeeze every last drop of mileage out of their car whilst gesticulating wildly if you deign to overtake them. They NEVER give way voluntarily or allow you to pull out in traffic. They call themselves professional drivers, but every professional (Vans and Lorries) who does serious mileage is gentlemanly and courteous almost without exception. And they overcharge! I dare Taxi firms to carry a "How's my driving" sticker with a freephone number! Quote
marinabrid Posted August 13, 2005 Author Report Posted August 13, 2005 my original question ,, does any have an answer ?trying to adjust the 806 rear bench seat for 3 in to the back of the galaxy , i dont to buy an 806 but that and the too expensive at the moment 807 are the only 8 seaters apart from them vw caravelle things Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 I think the major problem would be getting the Galaxy re-registered as an eight seater! and informing you insurance company, who then would want the conversion tested to see that it would hold up in the case of an accident! if you desperately need eight seats thens it either an 806 or a Toyota estima, lucinda, emina or granvia, these four are all eight seaters and are available fairly cheaply as a Japanese import if you shop around? or even a Mazda bongo/friendee :D again an import and an eight seater :D me I'd go for the Toyota Estima Aeras 3ltr V6 217bhp sports suspension full body kit :D http://www.evolution.co.jp/preta/aeras/aeras.jpg http://www.auto.vl.ru/images/4/3754/3254.jpg http://www.auto.vl.ru/images/4/3754/3252.jpg Quote
Guest marcusheawood Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 ...and I'd buy a VW T5 minibus just in case the vasectomy doesn't work! You could then choose how many seats to have and still have a massive boot (plus commercial vehicle reliability). That Estima Aeras looks a bit bling bling; not really a grownups car :D (pimp my family!) Quote
suzuki91 Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 the skirts would not live long on our pot holed/speedhump infested roads!!! Quote

I wonder why I took 7 hours to get home on Tuesday? something to do with my T5 being on the back of a recovery truck! if only every thing in life was as reliable as a VW? :D bloody hope not or we would all be deep S~~T :D Quote
Guest MATT Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 i think i would go for the Toyota,or i might be tempted to have a look at the grand voyager, had a good comment about my galaxy yesterday, i had just given it a full clean, wheels, polish the lot, went in silverdale caravans, and a number of people looked at it, and one of the blokes who works there, asked, 'had a new galaxy?'No, just cleaned it. 'By, its in good nick, isn't it?' it is, (he then went and looked at the number plate, and rubbed his eyes, couldn't believe it was an x reg) MATT :D Quote
