b318isp Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 A sudden vibration has developed in my engine. It is noticeable at idle, peaks at about 1000rpm and reduces thereafter. I think it is slightly there throughout the rev range. In all other respects, the car is running fine - plenty of power etc. I checked under the bonnet and spotted a cracked vacuum hose leading to what looks like a diaphragm valve at the rear of the rocker cover. However, repairing this did nothing to improve matters. Anyone any ideas on this??? Quote
johnb80 Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Double check the engine mounts and the bolt on the gearbox that has a habit of detaching itself. Regards - JB Quote
b318isp Posted August 6, 2005 Author Report Posted August 6, 2005 Brought car to mechanic today and he reckons in is the dual mass flywheel, having come across similar symptoms in a Toledo. Anyone heard of this before? BTW, is there any workshop manuals available to cover the 1.9PD TDi engine? Quote
