Have recently had the pads replaced??

On my previous car (Merc E-class) I had new front pads fitted, they squealed so much it was making people turn and look  . I went back and they blamed the slight lip on the edge of the disc's so suggested I had new one's fitted.

This still did not cure the squeal but I had by now given up. It finally disapeared after about 3,000 miles.

If there is a build up of brake dust on the disks/pads, then they will squeak when dry - maybe even when wet?

if the brakes are functioning well i would not worry about it, if you want to be on the safe side, just go to another garage, and ask for the pads and disks to be checked.

Since the removal of asbestos from brake pads, they have a higher level of metallic substances in their make up! which can lead to higher noise levels when in use! try another make of brake pads and see if that helps?

A friend of mine had his front brakes done at frauds on his galaxy.

They did nothing but squeal when he got it back and frauds also told him that nothing could be done.

I did the front discs and pads on mine by myself as always and cleaned and copper greased where you should and in about 7000 miles not one problem.

Were the pads grease on the edges and rear?.
