seatkid Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Where to find it?On your engineMy Log book states engine number as YD00245. Is this the correct numberNoWatch out for.... my foot.... Quote
Guest sexton blake Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Hello Seatkid!Didn't take you long! Thanks for the warm welcome but Gawd!, the foot crack was great!I've still got tears in me eyes as I write this, I havent laughed that hard since. Why does the Log Book give this number at the Engine Number heading? I did see some other posts that said the number would be on the timing belt cover but this is missing, PD engine or not, I need to buy the right oil and filters so I can do a service. Again, fanx fer the krak Quote
Masked Marauder Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 Is there some suspicion that the engine has been changed at some time then? Look on the plate on the A pillar of the front passenger door, 2nd small box from the top left, whats written in there? Does it have a screw on cartridge oil filter that hangs down or a drop in one that sticks up? If you look at the timing belt, does it have another pulley in addition to the camshaft pulley? Quote
Guest sexton blake Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 MM...your a diamond! At least you have now provided me with an avenue to explore...will get back to you tomorrow if that's ok cos the car is out and about this evening but, to answer your question, the vehicle has no service history available to me at the moment and so I am trying to gain as much knowledge of this car as quickly as possible so that I can drop the oil, change the belts and filters etc and give myself some peace of mind! seatkid Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 The original engine no is printed on a large sticker in the rh compartment of the boot.It starts with the letters ANU, AUY or ASZ AFAIK The actual engine no is on the front of the block, below cylinder head, near bell housing mutter..mutter.....
