banjo Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 I wish the birds would stop pooing on my motor all the time.Thats what irritates me!!!!Had to clean it again yesterday. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 Stems from having a blue car - the birds think that it is sea, so OK to poo on. Similar thing with grey cars, apparently. Quote
banjo Posted July 24, 2005 Author Report Posted July 24, 2005 You know a friend at work said the same thing,i didn't know if he was taking the mick or what.Must be some truth in it. Quote
_dg Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 I don't know how many of the sparrows around by me have actually seen the sea. I am also not sure how many birds actually look down and purposefully fly towards a little dot of blue visible from the sky? More likely that they were aiming for a cat, in which case diesels will be less prone to this. Quote
Guest MATT Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 ...they just like to annoy us. you just finish cleaning the car and splat, bird poo, right in the middle of the windscreen! i just think its a blessing it missed me - lol MATT Quote
italiastar Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 My wifes Fabia was returned with two very large spots of bird poo after the dealer had it for a few days - even more surprising, they didn't even charge for it! Quote
Guest MATT Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 we live near a lake, of which two herons live, and one day i came out and ive never seen such a large splat of bird poo in my life, it was all down the side of a passenger door, including the window - must of been one big mamma of a bird! Guest MATT Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 ive also got sparrows nesting on my house, which give the cars a good multi tonal splattering, its amazing how such small birds can produce so much mess. MATT  Quote
galaxychap Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 also remember to remove the poo as soon as possible as it contains an acid that lifts the paint Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 also remember to remove the poo as soon as possible as it contains an acid that lifts the paint Keep a tub of baby wet wipes in the car at all times, for just this sort of event. Quote
Guest MATT Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 --Yes Sir!-- Got a whole army of cleaning products on stand by. http://www.goodfoodcompany.com/images/household1.jpg MATT  Quote
Guest EVSS Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 it must be the colour we have just added and amparo blue mondeo to the houshold and were fed up the other day as i cleaned the galaxy (mid charcoal) and the mondeo and five minutes later the mondeo was dive bombed. Quote
Guest MATT Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 when your out, keep an eye out for which colour cars have been splattered the most. ...i know its sad, but it gives you something to take your mind off the wife's constant nagging, and the kids constant, 'Are we there yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'.
