Bobboash Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 I sometimes have problems with the electric windows after wet weather. I was told to look at the control unit located under the passenger seat to check if has become damp but it is not under there. I have looked under both front seats but there is nothing there. Please can someone advise as to the location, cheers Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 In 98/99 the central locking ECU was moved up under the dash and incorporated into the CJB panel, what are the problems with the windows? Quote
Bobboash Posted July 23, 2005 Author Report Posted July 23, 2005 If I press the window 'up' switch it will get nearly to the top and go down by itself. If I retry a few times eventually it stays where its supposed to. This is only after wet weather so I will take a look under the dash to see if damp is getting in.Thanks for the reply Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 Either the window guides are tight? or the mech/cables need lubeing? and the window mech is senseing a blockage and tripping into anti trapping mode or the damp is getting into the plug in the loom in between the A post and the door? my passenger door does the same every so often after a real good down pour! but it operates ok in the dry so I always forget to take a look at it  Quote
Bobboash Posted July 25, 2005 Author Report Posted July 25, 2005 Thanks, I will take a look ( it bombed down with rain last night ) . It is only the drivers side doing it at the mo, so it is likely to be what you said Quote
Guest marcusheawood Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 ...It's probably your undertray, check that it is watertight  Quote
