Hi All,

Today my Galaxy started making a weired noise when the parking sensors are activated. Which I can stop by turning the car off and manually turning on the parking sensors I noticed that the front 2 (Drivers side) are not working now, any ideas what it could be? And if so how much replacement part are going to cost?

Thanks as always

from what i remember, in the manual this means there is a fault. i would suggest that it is either a wiring fault, or the 'brains' of the system is malfunctioning. if you have jet washed the car recently, maybe you have forced water into the sensors, and knackered them?

that's as much light i can shed on it, i don't know how to get to the wiring at the front, i do on the rear.

Check under the front passenger seat for water, the electronics are under the seat.

Could be the leaky rear screen washer scenario again.

just checked under front passanger seat and it is all dry.

MATT if it is the sensors any idea how much they are??

i managed to get the black part of the bumper off and one of the sensors is very tight the other has a bit of play in it.

Again any help please?

try swapping the sensors with ones from the left (passenger) side, and see if that makes the drivers side work, if it does, it the sensors that are broken. i haven't a clue on how much they are - but you can bet they will be expensive.

I dont know about the parking sensors but the front bumper does come off quite easily if its any help. You will need to remove the engine tray, remove the three screws holdig the bumper underneath the car. Remove the three screws on each side from the wheel house liners. Remove 4 srews from the radiater grill. Pull the bumper forward, but before you take it off you need to remove wires for the tmperature sensors, parking sensors, headlamp washer hoses etc. The bumper then comes straight off. (It sounds a lot more involved than it actually is, I removed it to fit spotlights, but admittedly I havent got parking sensors to disconnect as well!).
