Do All Ghia Have Cruise Control

Picking our new 52 plate Tdi 115 Ghia up on Friday, when I test drove it last week I didnt see any Cruise Controls on the steering wheel but there is a stalk on the left hand column that said set/res which I presumed was for the computer but after looking at a few on autotrader etc. most of them mention cruise, am i right in thinking mine hasnt got it and if not why not??? :D and does anyone know if its an easy job to retro fit it?

that is the control switch for cruise control,check your owners hand book for operating instructions :D

Not got the car yet let alone the hand book :unsure: , so Im right in thinking that it has got cruise then???? on the latest version the cruise is controlled using the buttons on the steering wheel the same as my old scorpio ultima. if it has then im a happier bunny than i thought :D

So do all Ghia have the stalk control or do some have the steering wheel controls then???? whats the difference, is the stalk type manual and the steering wheel type electronic as it controls the speed with the + and - buttons. sorry to be a pain but i just like to know the ins and outs of my vehicle and am very impatient :D

The steering controls are an option at extra cost from new but do the same as the stalk (can't see the point in them myself, I would rather have been able to change the temp controls on the steering wheel). The stalk control is standard equipment.

Thank You, we are picking up the TDi on Friday afternoon, on the following friday we're off to Switzerland so the cruise is going to be a godsend. :D

Wasn't that bothered about having cruise control until I got it. Now I wouldn't want to be without it.

:unsure: Unofficial imports have the multi function steering wheel :D

Most unofficial imports have the multi-function steering wheel. Cruise control buttons and radio buttons are on this type of wheel. All post-facelifted Galaxy Ghias have cruise control; the usual controls are on the end of the indicator stalk - a slide switch to turn on/off and a push-button on the end of the stalk - later models have a rocker switch on the end of the stalk, the difference being in how you increase or decrease speed once cruise has been set.

 

Also note: On most Ghias, the cruise warning light on the dashboard does not work :(

I always prefered the steering wheel controls, as per my old v6 mondeo.

The on/off control, (realy just an off control) is a fidly beast, quicker just to blip the brakes.

Mine doesn't show the cruise control light either; how can that be switched on? Another VAGCOM job?
