Okay need some help with this strange one . My front nearside side light has stopped working but when I press the brakes the offside front side light works with my brake lights , Oh and it gets better . When I switch on my lights at night my brake lights stay on including the high level one , along with my normal tail lights . Any help please .

Check the brake light bulbs as they are double filament.

Check carefully to see if one filament has have blown and then bridged across to the other filament. This can cause the lighting and brake light circuits to work together at the same time.

I had this on a Honda once, put the lights on and the brake lights came on as well. With the lights off, every time I operated the brakes all the lights would come on.

My brake lights and my tail lights are seperate and both are single filament . Have replaced them already to no avail .

Could be the wiring loom breaking down where it enters the tailgate (common fault, opening and closing the tailgate damages the wires) and shorting across the the wires, causing the problems you describe.

Thats odd. My side lights are both single and double filament (4 bulbs). Check the contacts in the larger bulb holder to see if there are two. If there are it should be a double filament.
