Guest TDiAds Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 Went in to have a starter motor and track control arm changed under warranty a couple of months ago, after 3 days (should have been an hours job) I got it back with the steering wheel pointing at 2 o clock, went back following week for retrack (30 minute job) 5 hours later came back with grease all over drivers door panel, booked in for valet 3 days later, went in for valet to come back in same state, rebooked in for a week later, went in for 2nd valet and it came back in same state but with new greasy finger prints on drivers door panel and cleaning fluid sprayed all over dash and interior widows and all plastic work. They then offered me a new door panel which they said they would fit free of charge because the grease was unable to be removed , I took them up on the offer of the door panel but I wouldnt let them touch the car again so I now have a spare door panel as the grease cleaned off within 10 minutes with some 1001 upholstery cleaner. In all I had to visit this dealer 8 times to get to this stage and still only got a 2 line letter back from their head office after complaining saying " I am glad you have come to an agreement to sort out your problem with the service manager out our branch in Sheffield. so if you want good service avoid Dixons on Saville Street in Sheffield, they even had the cheek to tell me their branch was ranked #1 by ford for customer service, just goes to show how bad the rest must be :D Quote
Guest MATT Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 that sounds like a right disaster, will steer well clear. MATT Quote
handy andy Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 I found the same.I actually bought my new galaxy from them. I fitted a Ford towbar myself but needed them to set the dash module so that the indicator warning light worked. They managaed program it incorrectly twice enabling and disabling non existant sensors. They also overfilled my oil.The final straw was the when I was told that when I received my Ford customer satisfaction survey at the end of year one that I should take it to them and they would help me fill it in and give me Quote
Guest TDiAds Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 A friend told me the same story about someone his girlfriend knew about dixons in sheffield and to be honest I didnt believe them, but obviously its true. what a shower of **** Quote
Guest TDiAds Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Just to add to the post about the service I had with Dixons in Sheffield, I refused to go to Saville Street in Sheffield after the joys I had with them, I decided that if I had to use them again it would be the Sheaf Gardens site so today the Airbag fault light has popped up on the dash so I thought id give em a ring and book it in......here goes again. I said to him that the light was on and it was under warranty and so when could I bring it down, and he had the cheek to tell me that it might not be covered, the warranty does not cover wear and tear items I was told............*%^" since when has the airbag been a wear and tear item its not as though its set off twice a day, he said that the connections might need cleaning. So anyway its off down there on the 14th so Ill let you all know what happens then because its bound not to be straight forward Quote

mumble_bee Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 with what youve said - is it wise to place so much importance to a FULL DEALER service history when buying a car ? I am a Honda Legend Fanatic- I've owned at least 5 different mk2 legends and still do today.. I learned very quickly that a decent forum - with good techies on it would teach you more than any dealer mechanic knows or will EVER know. Lots of Headache with 2 different Honda Dealers, caused me to give up on dealers, and I cant see why frauds would be any different. Quote
