Air Con Clutch Unit

hi, just realised why my aircon wont work on my 1.9tdi 2001 gal.- no clutch plate.!!!!. i managed to get hold of 2 , but they wont fit. one has a 'splined' centre hole, the other has a 'woodruff key' type fitting'. the shaft to which these connect to on my 1.9tdi has neither spline or woodruff, it seems to be a 'tapered ' sort of fit. how many varieties are there, and can someone with a 2001 gal 1.9tdi confirm that it is a 'tapered' fit, and not that my splines have been worn smooth in the past, perhaps explains why there was no clutch plate on the comprssor in the first instance.

pps anyone know where i can get one apart from frauds. (they want 200 big ones for it!!!!!!)
