Steven.Langdale Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Hello all the title said it all. My cliimate control flashes on startup, but works perfectly. Local Ford garage had a look, said it was all working fine, but after talking to Ford tech support said to stop the flashing I'd need a new CC unit. They want Quote
dipsomaniac Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 My display used to flash on startup. It hasn't done it now for around 12 months. As long as it is working ok I wouldn't worry too much about it. Quote
tom8848 Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 I had this problem and had it regassed. After gassing it still flashed.I pulled the fuse and re-inserted it seemed to reset it and stopped flashing.Nothing to lose and worth a try. Quote

Masked Marauder Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 I am in the Hunstanton/Fennystanton area on a Mon Tues & Wed evening/night, but have no lap-top at the moment. Quote
Steven.Langdale Posted July 14, 2005 Author Report Posted July 14, 2005 All Thanks for the kind offers! One thought struck me though, will VAG-COM work on my motor? it's a pre-facelift with a 2.3 engine. Does it have enough VW bits in it for VAG-COM to work? I've found my radio code (just incase) so will have a go at removing the fuse to reset it. I'll see if that cures it...... dipsomaniac, I'm not worried about it. I'm just nosey  Thanks Steven Quote

Steven.Langdale Posted July 14, 2005 Author Report Posted July 14, 2005 Velcrohead Thanks for that, I'll be in touch after a go with the fuse... Steven Quote
Guest tonycoates Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 I have found that disconnecting the battery for 30 secs, resets intermittant fault alarms, without the need for VAG.com Quote

studiodemon Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Hi,The cc panel on mine was doing the same. After about 15secs it would stop flashing.I had my air con regassed and after it was filled the panel stopped flashing at start up.After about a week it started flashing again.I was told that there must be a leak. So will leave it in to get checked out.The mechanic who is a friend of mine who works for an Iveco garage said that the panel was flashing because it needed regassing.Maybe you to have a leak. Quote
sad_git Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Hi, I have a similar problem with my CC , flashes on startup. The fault on mine is the CC unit itself (internal memory error) which I diagnosed using VAG.com. As there is no noticable effect on the system and due to the cost of a new unit I am putting up with it until I find a good s/hand one. As the dealer regassed the system I would doubt that it is down to low pressure. Bren Quote
Steven.Langdale Posted July 15, 2005 Author Report Posted July 15, 2005 An update Disconnected the battery for a mniute, and no difference. As sad_git said, it's not low gas as the dealer re-gassed it (not that it needed it). I'm off on holiday to France in a couple of weeks, so will be on touch with one of you guys who kindly offered to plug in their vag-com and take a look at it when I get back. I'll pick up some beers on the way past Calais  Thanks all Steven Quote
