Ketchup Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 My Galaxy started misfiring on Thursday and has got progressively worse. Damndest thing I ever did see, for every misfire the Airbag light flashes- Help!!! Had a new radio installed on Wednesday, could this have caused it????? Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 Too much of a coincidence for me... What ICE have they fitted? Standard OEM or aftermarket? If they've interfered with the standard wiring and/or delved into the fusebox/engine bay........ If they stripped the dash out.... You know where I'm coming from. I've seen and heard others with all sorts of issues like this because feeds were taken from "apparent" lives when they were signal wires to the ECU. Likewise, distrubed or missing earths can cause oddities. Take the thing back and make them sort it. Quote
Ketchup Posted July 6, 2003 Author Report Posted July 6, 2003 Its a sony cd player fitted by means of a Ford to ISO adapter- thing is , the Airbag light no longer flashes and car runs permanently on 3 cyclinders now. Goes into Ford tomorrow, still under warranty Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Plug/HT Lead/Dropped Valve/Burnt Valve/Injector fault. Easy to check the Plug, HT Lead, Injector. Still wouldn't be happy about the airbag light.... Quote
Ketchup Posted July 7, 2003 Author Report Posted July 7, 2003 Took my Gal in , mechanic thinks he's nailed it down to a bad "DIS Pack"Will see later when I pick her up Quote
Ketchup Posted July 7, 2003 Author Report Posted July 7, 2003 so it was the DIS Pack runs like a dream now Quote
degens Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Forgive me if I am being thick here - but what is a "DIS pack" Cheers Phil. Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 "Distributorless Ignition System" It's a coil pack. Normally last forever. If they do fail, it usually takes 2 cylinders out of action (1 and 4 or 2 and 3) Quote
