hi,does anyone know if vauxhall astra keys have transponders in on an "r" plate astra.I just looked at one for my wife,which seems a good car,but the guy only has one key,and i will need to get a spare cut.Is this just a mister minit job or will it cost

Don't know about an R reg but the V reg as got them, open the key and find out

Yes it will have transponder keys, so you will be looking at up to

all cars that are uk spec 96 on are transponder based but some are not insurance approved as most manufacturers will not or did not pay to have them thatchem approved and evaluated

normal way of telling with a vauxhall is to look at the rubber seal around the ing barrel if its got one and has a white dot on it it has an immobliser fitted another way is to wrap the key handle in silver foil mr kipling cake base is good if engine managment light flashes then its got an immobiliser

yeah,thought of that,the guy i bought from was a pensioner,plus it will be insured
