Alan Hambra Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 The flexible wiring loom carrier from the offside rear of my Alhambra to the tail gate has broken (the clip got damaged and won't hold it in position anymore). This is causing the wiring to become damaged. This part (according to Seat) cannot be supplied separately. I would have to buy the whole relevant section of wiring as well. Any ideas/tips on how to fix it? Regards, Al Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted July 5, 2003 Report Posted July 5, 2003 Is it just the flexi-conduit that has "become" damaged, or the wiring within? The wiring itself can be repaired fairly readily. Dependant on how au fait you are with wire preparation and jointing techniques?? In the meantime, I suspect I could expect radar vectors to an ILS in your ATZ?? Guest Ian Hampton Posted July 6, 2003 Report Posted July 6, 2003 Hello, The same happened to me, I cut off the knackered moulding, re-wrapped the wires with PVC tape, then applied some 'spiral wrap' which is a kind of spiral wire protection we use at work, I know you can buy it from Hi Fi shops... works a treat! Alan Hambra Posted July 9, 2003 Author Report Posted July 9, 2003 S A Intruder and Ian, Thanks for the replies. The flexi carrier has broken and the wiring is starting to show signs of wear. Within the next couple of days I'll get some spiral wrap (which I have not come across before) and fix it. Thanks once again. PS: S A check your PM's! Quote
