Guest marcusheawood Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 WHY DON'T YOU PAY ATTENTION! I WAS REFERRING ONLY TO MY EXPERIENCES WITH MY VR6 PETROL SHARAN WHICH IS NOT AFFECTED. Every single criticism has come from someone with a damned oilburner about which I have made NO statement! Quote
Guest marcusheawood Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 I HAVE got a Sharan VR6.It DOESN'T have it's undertray fitted. The Power steering belt has NOT been slipping. It has a continual stream of other problems to keep me guessing, but belt slippage ain't one of 'em. That's why the tray remains off. In the words of Jimmy Pursey "Tell 'em the truth" If you're too scared to test it yourself, at least let the brave amongst us relate their experiences. Oilburners, have you tried speeding yet? Quote
Bigjeeze Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 Oilburners, have you tried speeding yet? Yes I have!! I was rushing to help my mate who had just driven through a large puddle in his VR6 and LOST his undertray as a result. I managed to get up to 71MPH before I blanked out. I came to at about 55mph when the oxygen supply cut in. My mates car was totalled - aparrently the Power steering pump became so waterlogged it flew off and took the front wheels with it. These pills taste nice Biggles BORING!!!!! We can surely all agree to disagree on this one!! Quote
Guest marcusheawood Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005  I agree, trouble is people keep having a poke at me so I respond. If it were face to face I'd show 'em the car and then break their nose for being rude and stupid! Quote
Guest marcusheawood Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 ...oh, and I can afford to put petrol in it and drive it however I like. I can also afford to get the car fixed at the dealers, however; like pretty much everyone else here, I have discovered to my (considerable) cost that the dealer network has absolutely no idea how to repair this model when it goes wrong (which is often). Had it occurred to any of you that the manufacturer has a vested interest in giving advice which ensures that you run for the nearest dealer when a light goes on or the car makes a funny noise. Likewise the dealer has a vested interest in ensuring that the manufacturer makes the car as obfuscatory as possible for the same reason. It's just a car ferchrisakes, a little more complicated than they used to be, but still under the skin it's pretty much a common or garden car. Buy it, Drive it, Fix it, Sell it. Do whatever you like, just stop bitching at me... Quote
