Two years ago my 96 2.0 Auto failed on emmissions. I took it back to the Garage I bought it from and they did all the usual, (Lamda Sensor, checked Cat and all that), it ended up going back to Ford as they drew a blank. It turned out to be the "Emmissions Motor" which you can hear running when you first start the car and will switch off after a couple of minutes running. It is mounted above the engine next to battery. It costed the best part of Quote
