westie Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 Hi,Well, Ive sat on the sidelines long enough, so its about time I joined the forum.I am now on my 2nd Galaxy. I did have a 90bhp TDI glx and Ive now got a 110 BHP Ghia X.I have got 4 children so I needed a people carrier and I found the Ford/VW/Seat sisters to be the best by far..........BUT........ I have found the electrics to be very fragile.I have seen posts on the forum about interior lights, brake lights etc etc not working, and I have had the same problems with both my Galaxy's.Another problem that both of them have had, is with the air bag light not going off. My local dealer said that it may be something to do with the seat belt tensioner (?)...I have fixed many of the niggly faults with advice from this forum........anyone got any ideas on this one, as I havent seen it mentioned before??Many thanks. Guest Peter Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 I have the same problem with my air bag warning light. i am told it is the (Clock Spring) or as the Haynes manual calls it the Airbag Wiring contact unit. My only problem is that the Fords spare parts department cannot find a part number for it Can any body else help with this. When the part is fitted the Managment system will need to be reset  Quote
Ketchup Posted July 4, 2003 Report Posted July 4, 2003 interesting... My Galaxy (98 R) 2.3 started misfiring on one or two cylinders. Not all the time , and for every misfire I get a flash of the airbag light. When a run of misfires occurrs , its followed ,in correct time,by the flashing airbag light??????? now , I had a new radio/cd player installed the day before it started??? anybody have any ideas????
