seatkid Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 Some stupid bint in Sainsbury's car park who can't see reversing lights got me so wound up, I subsequently proceeded to reverse into the pick up bay bollards, reshaping my front nearside wing (why do Tdi develop so much torque you can't even feel its ploughing something down?) Anyway question is, am I right in thinking the wings are single skin - I am planning on trying to straighten it myself using wood blocks and a mallet inside the wing. Fortunately the plastic cover on the bollard meant no paint damage just a dent/crease/different shape. Anyone got tips? Or should I use a dent specialist (how much Quote
steve67car Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 :o know how you feel i park in a business centre car parkits half empty most the time and some t****r still ran down the rear corner of my galaxy leaving some nice bright yellow paint guess what the camera did not pick him/her up but how many yellow vans are out there? thx city link lol  p.s have a good near side wing if it dont work out :P Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 Nasty things, posts. Remind me to always keep my foot on the brake, or use the handbrake, when manouvering and changing from reverse to forward gears. Just rolling a few inches whilst changing direction did this in the spring. (Looked far worse before I got the touch-up paint out) Quote
HJT Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 :D know how you feel i park in a business centre car parkits half empty most the time and some t****r still ran down the rear corner of my galaxy leaving some nice bright yellow paint guess what the camera did not pick him/her up but how many yellow vans are out there? thx city link lol <_< p.s have a good near side wing if it dont work out :P I know how you feel, parked in the parent and toddler space at Tesco's so loads of space between cars next to me, I come back and there's a nice red scrape round the corner of the rear bumper :) I was sitting watching an old boy reversing out of a space in a car park the other day and he went backwards and forwards, only stopping each time when he nudged a car. I guess thats how he knew he'd gone far enough :D Howard Quote
Guest MATT Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 well up to yet, ive had a taxi driver nock my left wing mirror, wife smashed the right wing mirror completely off when she decided to reverse it out the garage, when we first had the car, she reversed into a big steel post that was concreted into the ground (even though the parking sensors were screaming at her), had some women push a pushchair into the front wheel arch (you may remember the posts). ...i think that's it, we have only one dent, a small one, where the wife reversed into a post, on the rear bumper. italiastar Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Put the Fabia in for 1st service (warranty work) - what was the problem with yours? I'm still waiting for them to sort out corrosion on one of my alloys. In addition, when I removed the headlamp cover to check what headlamp was fitted, the clip broke with minimal pressure - Had a ruck with the dealer about this and they eventually changed it. However they admitted it was a *ugger to fit - when I checked it, it fell off theres only one locating lug at the bottom - I think they broke the other one. It's worth checking these as one of the clips on my other one is also cracked - time for another ruck. I have a very good relationship with the service manager he annoys me as much as I annoy him, so whenever we speak it ends up in an argument. only Quote
