SharanTDICarat Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 Wondering if anyone can help , I resently regased my AC as it stopped working and also CC panel was flashing .After regassing it worked fine for a couple of days then the CC panel stared flashing again. So presure tested with some Nitrogen to find that I could hear a small leak. Traced the leak to a small bore pipe coming from the condeser (front driver side under chassis leg ) going round the engine bay in to the bulkhead at the passenger side.I have tries a search but to no real avail, I seem to remember talk about a common pipe that corrodes . Can anyone tell me if this is the same, any part Nos or prices would be great too.ThanksTAM Also can anyone tell me what oil is to be used in the AC system Quote
sad_git Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 Same pipe went on my 2.3 after replacing filter drier after replacing compressor!Fords price is around Quote
SharanTDICarat Posted July 2, 2005 Author Report Posted July 2, 2005 I believe this is the most common pipe failure as it corrodes inside a clamp on the chassis leg. Yep that sounds like it mine has gone at the clamp in the insulation under the chassis leg. ThanksTAM Quote
Masked Marauder Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 The oil is PAG oil and if you are only changing a pipe there should be no need to add any. If the system is open for any length of time you will need to change the desiccant in the receiver/dryer and will need to add some oil in that case. Quote
