Saturbo Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 Does anyone know if there is a wired plug so that I could fit a lightboard over a couple of bikes on a rack? I am concerned that the bikes will obscure the lights etc and I'll get pulled on me hols. The car has no towbar fitted, and I dont fancy splicing into the main feed at the rears. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 On yours there should be a multiplug connector in the cubby hole in the back where the jack is stored IIRC. EDIT: I remember wrongly, it is the power socket side cubby hole! Quote
Saturbo Posted July 1, 2005 Author Report Posted July 1, 2005 I take it then there will be a standard plug style for this? Do I have to pull off the plastic cover as if I were changing a lightbulb? Quote
Masked Marauder Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 No, it is just an open connector on the loom under some grey foam with an inline fuse holder. Quote
gerryfr Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 I recently found the plug for a tow bar socket deep in the offside boot recess, directly underneath the rear lamp cluster, ie drivers side back corner. It took a bit of westling to pull it out but towbar socket fitted without splicing and all lights worked at once. (One relay needed changing in front fusebox to make trailer indicators flach on dashboard ). Original VW towbar instructions incorrectly stated plug was in nearside rear recess. Gerryfr Quote
