Hi all

been trying to get parts for my 2001 115bhp diesel galaxy but am told by various autofactors GSF included that my engine number (1K94978) is not a valid VW engine, is this because it is in a ford?, if so should any filters (oil fuel air pollen) from a 2001 sharan fit or do I have to go to ford.

Eh? The diesel engines fitted to all Galaxys have always been made by VW.

No, you don't

To identify your engine you need to look for the first 3 letters of the engine code on the timing belt cover (it may preceed the engine number on the log book too)

It should be something like ANU or ANY or ASZ
