Guest rcmadd Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 hi all a newbie herei have just got a 96 galaxy tdi glx and would like to know the following 1 what size are the front wipers supposed to be? they are the curved ones i went and measured them they were 27 & 27.5 inch. is that right? 2 the driders door wont lock from time to time when i turn the key i hear the motors but then i try the door and it opens. i tried to lock it from the pass side and watched the lock when the motor starts the lock begins to move then it springs back. also tried locking from inside get out of pass side then go to drivers door and it still opens. if you can understand any of that can you please advise me as to what is going on thanx. Ivor_E_Tower Posted June 25, 2005 Report Posted June 25, 2005 i tried to lock it from the pass side and watched the lock when the motor starts the lock begins to move then it springs back. The central locking thinks that the door is open - the door has to be closed for the CL to work properly. I suggest that something needs adjusting - maybe the "throw" of the locking actuator ? Not too sure of the exact construction of the mechanism myself; fortunately not yet had to dismantle the door trims etc on my Galaxy ! Quote
