I have those exact same speakers in my MK1 gal, they're pretty good.

Any ideas on how i can persuade the missus into letting me have a couple of 10" subs in the back, was thinking of fitting them in the plastic trim on the inside of the boot door, lol. :(

Great set of speakers - i have them in my Gal Mk1. Don't bother trying to fit with the grilles on as they wont fit behind the door card :D (see the post referenced above). If (like me) you are not too keen on cutting the original connectors off, go to your local independant ICE supplier and get some of these:
