Does Anybody Know What This Is?

When changing my speakers I found this connector in each of the doors

I thought it might be for rear electric windows until I found that all 4 doors had one!

 

Any ideas what it should be connected to?

i wonder if it could be a power supply, for lights that go on the door, so at night, people can see there's a door open?

 

you could test this theory, by connecting a voltmeter to the wires, and then shutting the doors, opening them, and see if there is a change in voltage. ie, when door is shut = off, when door if open = on.

Yes, Red & White is the feed to the lamps, Brown & Yellow the earth.

There is a cut-out indent in the door pocket at the front end, by the ashtray in the rears. When you look from the rear of the card there should be a hole in the backing material.

 

You cut it out and pop in a clip-in light.

 

They are part number 1J0 947 411 E at your Volkswagon/SEAT dealers

 

EDIT: Correction! They are towards the rear of the door card!

when i had my door cards off, i was hoping to find something similar. i would of liked door lights, but the wiring didn't seem to be there, so never mind.
