Wiper Linkage

Can anyone tell me if the ball joint on the wiper linkage on the drivers side is avalible as a seperate part or am I going to have to buy the whole linkage assembly

A quick look at EKTA only shows the only individual replacable items are the linkage arms, I doubt they would come with the ball joints though... B)

this would be a good place to start, but there is a better thread SOMEWHERE THAT SEARCH WONT GO (FOR ME) where the linkage ball has been drilled out and screwed in

Ford only offered to supply the whole linkage assy.

I cant see the piece I need on that, I take it that came from the TIS disc some of you have talked about if so I got to get me a copy of it , it could be very useful

TIS is the Ford 'Technical Information System' as sort of 'How to guide' including wiring diagrams and other procedures. The screen shot is of a parts catalogue, it may be EKTA but its different to my copy. Both are very useful.

 

As you point out there is no part number listed for any ball joints, just the linkage arms. :o

VAG offer a service to registered car repairers to buy genuine spares. They have their own, more comprehensive catalogue called ETOS. The picture is from there.

 

All the part numbers can be used at any VAG dealer even for stuff that is not on their EKTA.
