Hi, maybe someone can help.

I may be going to look at a 1.8 LX. I think the car was possibly registered in 2000, but I think it is one of the older '98 models (chrome on boot + grille) that had sitting about. The problem is it belonged to an elderly gentleman who took ill just after he bought it and it has been sitting for approx 4-5 yrs.

I have been told that the mileage is low, however how what do you pay for a car like that??

No tax..MOT...probably needs belts, full service, moss cleaned off, tyres etc.etc.

Is is worth looking at??

With a bit of TLC it could be a great car!

Hope someone can give me some advice.

Thanks.

After sitting for 4/5 years, id expect to buy new tyres.

New aux belt

New Oil

New Coolent

New Brake Fluid

New Timing Belt

New Wheel bearings

New Leads and Plugs

New Filters

New Exhaust

New Brake Discs - perhaps

New Wishbones - perhaps

New Battery

Along with all the other things that might have seized up.

A good buy at the right price - the engine has had 5 years rest, but very expensive if your not fixing it up DIY style.

Cam belt and wheel bearings are the expensive ones, my fiesta stood for a year and needed new wheel bearings. The cam belt is recommended change every 5 years.

How much is it advertised for?

Hi,

The car is not actually advertised. I spotted it when I called at the owners house on other business about 8 months ago. The owner since died and the car is still there so I spoke to a family member and asked if it was for sale?

I will have to make them an offer but I dont know how much.
