Vr6 Power Loss

Hi All,

 

Just got back from a 750 mile round trip to Wales and my Sharan VR6 has developed a bit of a power problem.

 

When going up hill there is a definate lack of power (struggled to get over 70 on some hills) and occasionally when on the flat there is a definate flat spot.

 

I thought at first it was the Auto gearbox but the engine isn't over revving like clutch slip. it just acclerates slowly!!

 

I would also expect to have got a bit more than 24mpg on a run.

 

I know this all sounds a bit vague but any ideas!!

its a petrol,

 

Its a V6

 

what more can i say :(

 

usual problems, coil pack, maf, leads, spark plugs, generally non diesel stuff.
