Masked Marauder Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 My VAG-COM came this morning so I hooked up to the PC and got the following list of codes:VAG-COM Version: Release 504.1-UD Chassis Type: 7M - VW SharanScan: 01 02 03 08 09 15 16 17 18 19 29 36 37 39 45 46 55 56 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Address 01: Engine Controller: 028 906 021 GT Component: 1,9l R4 EDC 00SG 1906 Coding: 00002 Shop #: WSC 000202 Faults Found:01268 - Quantity Adjuster (N146) 18-10 - Upper Limit - Intermittent01268 - Quantity Adjuster (N146) 17-00 - Control DifferenceReadiness: N/A -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Address 03: ABS Brakes Controller: 1J0 907 379 D Component: ABS 20 IE CAN 0001 Coding: 12812 Shop #: WSC 00020No fault code found. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------Address 09: Cent. End -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The address 09 Faults cleared and did not return The address 01 codes cleared and the following one kept coming back 01268 - Quantity Adjuster (N146) 18-10 - Upper Limit - Intermittent But after trying clearing it with the engine off it cleared and did not come back when the engine was started. But WTF does it mean, I can find no information on the Net or the Ross-Tech site about it, can anyone enlighten me? Also there is no communication with the Aux Heater module. Does this mean there are two versions, one a dumb unit and one that logs faults? Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 14, 2005 Author Report Posted June 14, 2005 As an update, the module 01 error is a soleniod valve in the injection pump and this error has returned on driving the car this morning. As far as I can make out it can not be repaired as a DIY option, so other than checking the leads for a bad connection it looks like I have a trip to the breakers coming up. Quote

Hi MM, VAG-Com should have interrogated Address 18 to Auxilliary Heater control unit as this address was included in the VW Sharan profile that you ran. Did you get a comm's failure error message on Address 18 during the scan? Did it attempt to connect several times and time out each time? Can you elect to connect directly to Address 18 via the VAG-COM interface? I've used VAG-COM many times to connect to the Aux Heater controller without issue. Mines an '02 tdi, I wonder if the interface is different? I'm not sure what you mean by 'Does this mean there are two versions, one a dumb unit and one that logs faults?' Regards,J. Quote
Ivor Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 I have trouble connecting to the aux heater, just keep trying. I can't remember the sequence, ie. plug vag-com into car, start software, or, start software, plug into car, but keep persevering and it should connect to it. Quote
GSMGuy Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 If you have a USB VAG-COM, the sequence is... plug usb lead into PC, and wait for it to be recognised, then start VAG-COM, then pludg into socket with ign on, and run test and save.. Mike Quote
