Windscreen Wiper Problem

My 2000V Galaxy has developed an annoying problem with the front windscreen wipers.

 

Sometimes when switched on they work for a short time at normal speed and then they start to slow down until eventually they just stop !!!

 

It can then take upto 10 minutes before the crawl back to the rest position and then won't work at all.

 

Now they have also started to just freeze halfway up the windscreen when first activated !!!!

 

Any ideas as to what this may be ?

Either a sticky spindle or the motor controller has got wet. Do a search using the search button above and all will be explained.
