Masked Marauder Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 When the brake light switch plays up and sets the glow plug light flashing, do you have to press the brake pedal first, or does the light just start flashing after the engine has been running for about 30 seconds? TIA! Quote
Guest neil_wiles Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 The flashing MIL is a result of the test that runs during the initial running of the system therefore no application of the brake is necesary for the lamp to start flashing if the brake switch is faulty. There are other causes for this and one of them appears to be differential tyre size eg. if you fit a spare tyre on the front(new tread size) and the other front tyre is worn to a fairly low level. I had this breifly before replacing both front tyres at about 25k miles. Quote
