psolak Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Hi Guys, I need help the A/C has stopped working on my 2001 115bhp Tdi Ghia Galaxy - VagCom has come up with the fault code A/C Pressure switch. 1. Does this fault indicate the switch is defective(how can I tell) or that there is insufficient refrigerant in the system. 2. If the switch is faulty how can this be replaced easily in car. The system was only re-gassed last year and the air-con guy said a good vacum was being formed. Kind Regards Quote
Andrew T Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 That was the fault mine showed, and it was the beginning of a 3 garage Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 If it is the high pressure switch then it is located on the aircon pipework behind the horn in the engine compartment. The TIS does not say if the system needs evacuated, so I can't help on that. Quote
psolak Posted June 6, 2005 Author Report Posted June 6, 2005 Heres the fault code from Vag-com 00792 - A/C Pressure Switch (F129) 35-00 - -Only thing is it doesn't tell me if it is faulty or registering a fault, and which sensor it is. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Kind Regards Quote
seatkid Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 I would think your system is empty and the leak you've had for a while (but been unaware of) has got worse. Vacuum test doesn't show all leaks, splits can close under vacuum but blow under pressure..... Quote
deadpool2e Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 i have had a/c problems also, my vag diagnosis is a resurc valve fault. i think it means the recirculation? and the valve is behind the dash? anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? Quote
