HalfPint Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 here is a quick question for anyone if they can help. I have a 2.0 '96 petrol gal with about 89 thousand miles on the clock.I love this car we have had it for nearly six years now and never let us down.but i was thinking of putting a rocket up it's arse and wandered if i could get a 2.0ltr cossie lump in there complete with turbo of coarse,i know it's about OTT but christ it would go like f@@@. Can you give me any positive or negative comments please to put my mind at rest. halfpint Quote

Masked Marauder Posted June 5, 2005 Report Posted June 5, 2005 I once had a drive in a transit that was owned by Cosworth and had one of their engines in, don't know which one though. It was RWD and empty and the power to weight ratio was huge, it was scary fast, the clocks went up to 120mph and then ran out..... I only went from Wellingbourgh to Stoke on Trent and managed to smile my way through the best part of a tank of petrol! When I got back they went out to the van and were laughing, as it had a computer system fitted under the dash on the passenger side that I had not even spotted, and they knew what my average & top speed was! johnb80 Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Surely it would be better and cheaper to fit a V6, the Gal was designed to accept this lump, it's easily tweakable with off the shelf parts etc etc. Should be much easier to do than the cossie. You could of course always use the cossie 24v from the Ultima...... Regards - JB Quote

chromedome Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Yeah, take the seats out and strap it down with the seat belts which are now surplus to requirements. It would certainly impress those boy racers with their nova's and corsa's. Quote
johnb80 Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 You wouldn't need the aux / booster heater either, the aircon on the other hand would have it's work cut out. Quote
