OK - ive been looking around the door cards, i know the bottom prizes off, and ive removed the door handle (the bit with the window switch), which revealed TWO substantial screws, which are helping to hold the card on. from previous posts, i thought there was three screws, ive had a good nosey, but i can't find a third screw, that seems to be holding the card on, only two tiny screws, which seemed to be non related to holding the card on.

is this correct, or is there a third screw, hidden away somewhere, that i have not seen?

Also, is it possible to buy the door handles only, as the drivers handle, is looking a bit worse for ware (just the plastic bit that holds the window switches, not the whole door card)

also, how do you remove the window winders in the rear - in order to get the cards off?

if anyone knows the speaker sizes in the foot wells, off the top of their heads, would be appreciated, but is not important.

According to the TIS there are three screws? all in a line in the door card under the door pull trim panel, and they should be fairly large screws as they hold the door card to the door and take the load when you pull the door shut!

ye,s you can buy the handle section separately there are several posts on this topic giving a link to an online shop that sell nice non peeling chrome ones

to remove the manual winder handles, remove the clip on cover, then remove/undo the fixing holding the handle to the shaft, or it could be like on the MK1 where you grip the section of the winder nearest to the door card and then pull it parallel to the door card away from the winder knob end of the handle, this section then sits off centre and the winder pops off

Cheers VR6Galaxy,

i had a good look, and only found two large screws, in line with each other, ime wondering if the door card has been taken off, before i had the car, and the mechanic did not put all the screws in?

anyway, ime going to have a go at removing the whole door card off tomorrow, providing it isnt raining.

Oops  , with the superior guidance of VR6Galaxy, it was easy B) . when looking at the winder, you just prize the cover off, which reveals a screw, undo that, and the handle just pulls off then. would be easier to explain with a picture, but i did not take any :( .

easy when you know how B) .

I think i will do it again with pictures, to help lost soldiers on there way, in the future

i will also do the door cards, as well, as a lot of folks get stuck with it, when its really simple. and also, as this topic is named Door Cards, Door Handle, Door Speakers, Winders it should make it easy for people to find on the search engine - ya?

ok, well today, i bought some Sony speakers, and very nice they are to.

removed the passenger door card, removed that waste of space, and fitted the new Sony speaker, did a quick sound test, instantly noticeable, better bass, and much better clarity. will do the drivers door, and use that to do the pictures, on Tuesday (providing it isnt raining), cant wait till ive done them, and to wack the sound up - its one of those - YEAH BABY moments.
