Poor Working Air Conditioning

The air conditioning of my 2001 2.3 Galaxy is working poor, I can hear the (or some) gas flowing during start-up but the cooling is poor.

 

This is the fault read out of the "klima-unit", I don't know if it has something to do with ths AC:

00926 - Terminal 30

002 - Lower Limit Exceeded

01271 - Positioning Motor for Temperature Flap (V68)

009 - Open or Short to Ground

01189 - Front Air Distribution Flap Motor (V145)

009 - Open or Short to Ground

If it works, but not correctly then you either need to get it serviced or top it up yourself with more refrigerant.

Many people on here seem to be of the opinion that a DIY top -up is not a good idea though, but major names like "Castrol" make a DIY top-up product and I can not see them putting their name on something that does not work. In any case Americans and Australians have been servicing their own air-con for years.
