gazza007 Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 Well took the plunge today, all straight forward. Not sure how long you're supposed leave the can on? Can anyone advise?. We had it on for 10 mins.Managed to get his vent temp down to about 12c, still too high. I reckon still got half a can.I think he may have some other problems, sticker near 134a sign saying that a dye test had been done in 2003. pollen filter looked dirty too. The dealer threw in a 12 month warranty with the car when he got it last Feb. I said he should check if AC is included before we try adding anymore gas Quote
NedKelly Posted June 26, 2005 Report Posted June 26, 2005 Did mine today, got the temp down to 9 degrees from 14. I'm a bit disappointed with the fan speed/power though. On full blast (4) it sounded like a Harrier jump jet under the dash but was only pushing out enough to ruffle my Wife's fringe (yes i've spelt it right!!). I've also got a Toyota Picnic which i only had to put 1/4 can in to get the temp down to 5 Degrees (8 years old and A/C never touched) and the fan blew my temp gauge to the middle row of seats. Is the fan in the Gal usually so crap and can i do anything about it? Quote
Rallim Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Check your pollen filter.... When I first bought my Sharan the air flow was rubbish, a lot of noise with very little 'action'. Putting it onto 'recycle' caused the air flow to improve. I set about to remove and check the pollen filter after reading the wondeful guide on pollen filter removal elsewhere on this site. Lo and behold, once I removed the pollen filter the air flow was a lot better (filter looked old and was covered in rubbish, it didn't look like it had been changed for at least 2 / 3 years...). It was beyond me how the car had passed its 'we do a 'zillion' point checks before the car is sold' by the garage as the airconditioning did not work at all either... :( Gordon. Quote
