Here we go again, sent the gal into local fords to get the key programmed after having a new chip put in it. We were told that it would cost

On pre 98 cars the RED key is the master key! with this key any key can be programmed into the system! you normally get one RED key, one black key and a torch key or if you have the OE alarm/remote locking fitted you get a remote key instead of the torch key, on post 98 the RED key is done away with and you get another black key

it sounds like the garage is starting from scratch and replacing all your keys :lol: its not cheap but it may be a good thing as you now can add and replace lost keys at will with the RED key in your posession :( just dont lose it :ph34r:

;) Thanks for all the help, the update so far is that the car was sent to local Ford dealers and they managed to find us some cheaper keys. They wiped clean the memory and did us 2 new keys which saved us
