jkspoff Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 Does anyone have a mobile phone kit fitted to their Galaxy? Does Ford make a proper car kit for the Galaxy ? I am fed up with the rattly Nokia Cark-91 car kit that I have fitted and would prefer something like the Mercedes has, a dedicated slot for mobile, or has anyone fitted the new Nokia bluetooth car kit to theirs, how did you fit it.......? <_< Quote
johnb80 Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 I've done bluetooth on mine, dead easy, 20 minutes to install, all plugged ito the car speakers, no problem. The phone can be anywhere inside (or indeed outside but not too far away) the Galaxy, connects as soon as the ignition is on and diconnects on key removal. Regards - JB Quote
jkspoff Posted May 18, 2005 Author Report Posted May 18, 2005 Hi, was it the Nokia kit or the one made by Parrot, this one:Did you have any problems hard wiring it up to the ignition, where did you fit the display ? Quote
johnb80 Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 I used the Nokia Bluetooth without the display. All of the connections you need are on the back of the radio. I bought some cables that made it a plug in job, absolute doddle.Regards - JB Quote
Dally Posted May 18, 2005 Report Posted May 18, 2005 I have installed Sony Ericsson HCB-300's (buetooth) in my Galaxy and in my wife's fiesta. Both are wired through the car speakers and work a treat just as johnb80 has explained. Quote
wheeler Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 My Galaxy has factory fit Sat Nav. Can anyone tell me what connections are used on the back of the unit for a mobile phone kit? Quote
Dally Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 The RNS4 standard factory fit satnav uses iso connectors on the back. The Sony Ericsson HCE-16 music mute interfaces with this straight out of the box. I think that the Parrott kits also uses the standard iso connectors aswell. Quote
steve67car Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 dependant on year the tele mute kit from sound linx or connects 2 do the job as most fords use the same two connects unique to ford but go to an independant specialist and they can check and order the right part for around 30-40 pounds this will mute and transfer the call to the o.e speakers and also plug into the car kit so no more chpping about :) :) Quote
