Taliska Posted May 17, 2005 Report Posted May 17, 2005 How much would you expect to pay for a 30,000 mile service on a 53 plate 115 diesel? Taliska Quote
seatkid Posted May 19, 2005 Report Posted May 19, 2005 If the car is still in warranty, and your coming up to your first MOT its a good idea to have the usual suspension bits properly checked out (arb links, tie rod ends and strut top end) checked out and replaced free under warranty if necessary. Otherwise, I personally won't pay more than Quote
italiastar Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 I got a set of crushed sills FOC Some people are never happy! I bet if they charged you to crush them, you'd have still complained! How's my 2nd year service (13,000 miles) at Quote

springen Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 My Gal had it's 30000 mile service on Friday (although it's actually only done 23000 miles !). They changed the Oil & oil filter, pollen filter, fuel filter - BUT didn't change the air filter (strange I thought, but apparently not due for that ??). They did manage to cure the 'hesitation' problem at 1800 rpm - upgraded the ECU software apparently......and the did wash & hoover it out (the car not the ECU !). BUT when I checked the oil level yesterday I was amazed to find that it had been over-filled (about 1 cm above the max on the dipstick !!). I rang & complained and they took the car back and drained (sucked) some oil off. My concern is that it may have damaged the 'cat' - Ref: warning stickers under the bonnet. It will have to have it's first MOT in a couple of months so I guess I will find out. I've read elsewhere on this forum of cases of oil over-filled - has anybody experienced resultant problems of 'cat' failure ?? Quote
Beyond Help? Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 (edited) Diesel cats are more resilient than their petrol counterparts, it will most likely be fine. In any case the MOT test for a diesel is for particulates (smoke) which the cat will have little or no effect on. The test standard is the same for cat and non-cat engines.
