Guest bvp01c Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003  I have a 2.3 auto galaxy, does anybody know where the fuse boxes in the galaxy, and if they have a problem with changing the auto after starting the engine vip Quote
Guest Angelo Posted March 4, 2003 Report Posted March 4, 2003 Hi, my wife just had trouble with the auto transmission yesturday. She stopped to post a letter (leaving the engin running), got into the car to go and found that she couldn't shift the selector at all. The knob in the level to release just wouldn't go in. Has anyone had any experience of this and how it was resolved. I think it's something to do with the brake sensor which works in conjunction with the knob as the car needs to know that the brakes are on before it will release the gear selector lever ! I'd appreciate any help on this !! I'm taking my car into a Ford dealer on Wed and hopefully they can pinpoint what's causing the problem. I'll let you know how I get on if you like, although I was a little alarmed to hear that they may charge Quote

Guest SimonG Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 I discovered this site about a month ago when I was trying to find a clue why, at times I could not get my V6 auto into drive with the engine running. Well it was the brake light switch! As this begins to fail the brake lights do not operate resulting in the onboard monitoring system concluding that the brake lights have failed therefore it is clearly unsafe to drive so the computer will not let you select drive.A new switch from my local ford dealer was just over Quote
