faded-fish Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 Somebody is bound to know the answer to this  Is there a Ford specific connector for the factory fit speakers or do they use the standard blade connectors? I just want to know so that I have all the neccesary tools & equipment when I take the door cards off. Any help would be much appreciated. Quote
Guest j_mchattie Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 Ford have their own connectors im afraid. Or at least they were in my fiesta and my mondeo. Its to speed up mass-production, the workers dont want to be fiddeling about with blade connectors that could potentially be the wrong way round. Cut the bugger off and crimp on some blades! Quote
faded-fish Posted May 13, 2005 Author Report Posted May 13, 2005 Thanks for the quick reply I was afraid that might be the response. I've been deliberating over which speakers to get and am torn between the Kenwood KFC-1729C and Sony XS-F1734. The Sony ones are 3 way with a higher power rating and wider frequency response than the Kenwoods which are only 2 way, but the Kenwoods have an Easy Fit connector which claims to accept most European OME connectors. I was swaying toward the Kenwoods because the best price I found was a bit less than the Sonys, but today I found the Sonys at a cheaper price - OH THE QUANDRY  Quote
faded-fish Posted May 13, 2005 Author Report Posted May 13, 2005 Quandry solved  I've gone for the Sony XS-F1734s. The price swayed me - RRP Quote
Guest j_mchattie Posted May 13, 2005 Report Posted May 13, 2005 At the end of the day, they are going in a tin box! I have a set of those Sonys too, and they are as good-a speaker as any. Quote
