Guest MATT Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Hi, i have a 2001 (registered) Ford Galaxy Zetec 1.9TDI, and just recently ive been fixing all the little faults with the whole car (rear washer jet, wing mirrors falling off, you know) and i was wondering if it was possible to buy the climate control 'control panel' and simply remove the old dials, and fit the new unit. Q1) Is it Possible? :D Q2) would this give me instant CC? <_< Q3) How much are these units second hand/Bran new? MATT :D Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 Same answer as the last time this question was asked NO! you would need to swap out the loom and the heater unit behind the dash, on yours the controls are manually operated on a CC system they are servo operated take a look at the pictures posted by Nick and then rip your dash out and compare units <_< Quote
Guest MATT Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 well i did a search and i found nothing, also got a load of errors - did not know it had been asked before. sorry for breathing, MATT Quote
GSMGuy Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 VR6, the flaps for temp and distribution are servo operated on BOTH manual A/C and CC.. Mike Quote

Guest vr6galaxy Posted May 12, 2005 Report Posted May 12, 2005 They are indeed but the work involved in swapping over to CC from AC would involve a lot more than just swapping the control panel over! from looking at the parts list drawings there are a couple more sensors to be fitted, as well as having to swap out the loom to the rear heater unit and then having to change the head lineing to do away with the roof mounted controls for the rear heater unit, and thats without installing all the extra vacuum lines needed Quote
