Rubber Round Top Of Shock

evenin all

mk 1 98 year on lookinin the engine bay at the top shocker mounts i see on one side the rubber has cracked all theb way round so i can peep thru it the other side is intact.

the shocks seem to work ok but is that split an mot fail

Yep, it needs replaceing

what do i need just a top mounting ? is it an easy job ?

I cant say how hard a job it is as I gave mine to some else to do :huh: from looking at it you need to remove the whole shock absorber to replace the top mount! according to the manual this involves removeing the brake caliper and hub from the car! I could think of a more dangerous way to try and do it but it may lead to the loss of limbs and damage to the car if it all goes wrong! :huh: so I wont suggest it
