Guest c76jon Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 hi all 1998 110 ps tdi galaxy diagnostics have shown two sensors playing up here are part numbersford finis codes 1003802 1031090 part numbers95vw12b573ca95vw12b573cb these are on vacuum/boost side iam pretty sure does any one or can anyone tell me where they are on engineand ford prices are like over 200 quid for these twocan anyone shed any light on whether thay are made by bosch or someone else so they coukld be bought from elsewhere i really really need some help as this is beginning to make me lose the will to live!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks in advance john Quote

Guest c76jon Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 hithey have give intermittent boost problemsie car when asked to accelerate quite hard ie to overtake then a cut is felt as boost ceasescar does not go into limp mode nor does it illuminate mil lightturn off and turn on and it clears car still drives and will do high speed just takes longwer to get there ie no turbo assistance it is not maf as it has a brand new one and throttle switch is new diagnostics show these two sensors showing faults some times car will drive ok under all conditions for 3 daysbut then it will do it john Quote
seatkid Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 I think that one of them flagged will be the TPS turbo pressure sensor. If the output is not making sense to the ECU (i.e it cannot maintain a correct boost level) it cuts the boost to nil (safe mode). Reset when you restart the car. Check the wiring and the vacuum pipes which are prone to crack or rub before you go changing sensors.....this is particularly probable as you have 2 sensors flagged and they don't usually fail all at once! Guest c76jon Posted May 9, 2005 Report Posted May 9, 2005 hi thanks for thatcould youplease tell me where the tps is situauted under the bonnetiam led to believe that these two sensors are very similar in appearanceone of them is 50 quid other is 120 quid i would like to check all the pipes etc but need to know where these are situauted there are two what seem to be sensors on bulkhead to right of engine as you looj at it high up just below scuttle are these the two sensors?? thanks john Quote
