Would deffo try a set of plugs before a full diagnostic, but if you have access to compressed air I'd blow the crud out from the plug holes before pulling the plugs out, might be worth a bit of injector cleaner as well. Try lifting the bonnet tonight and check for HT leads tracking off to earth (easier in the dark). might save a few quid..

oooh It would be so easy to say the reason your down on power is down to the lack of two cylinders  but I wont

as suggested try a new set of plugs and leads and see how you go? also while your under the bonnet replace the air filter, do these before you shell out on a garage running a diagnostic check it could save you a few quid as they are bound to suggest new plugs and leads as their first option and they will charge you you a fortune for doing this!

Get Hometune, Tune-up or similar round to your house or place of work; they should be able to tell you what is wrong for less than the dealer !

i tried to remove the spark plugs but no luck

booked into a small garage i have used in the past

for tues morn

i'll let you know how i get on with the old gal

i recon it's a dodgy plug & lead

still gonna cost a small fortune lol

well that's the joy of an exec car

car sorted

fitted new plugs & 1 ht lead

lead number (cylinder)3 was the culprit

not done in frauds as they wanted to do a diognostics first

& that cost's more than the plugs as they needed changing

once i looked at them.

garage done the work

It's getting a bit much when your local garage can change the plugs and leads (possibly including all parts costs) for less than the price of just the diagnostic check at the Fraud dealer.

:D

And [the Fraud dealer] most likely will misdiagnose the fault and cost you a packet in unnecessary repairs... :o :o
