Guest SwanseaFred Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 I have a 2.8 auto (Jan 2003). It had less than 8,000 miles on the clock six months ago when it suddenly developed an engine vibration when hot. I have been to the garage 3 times and they still haven't fixed it. The plugs and coils have all been replaced under warranty. The vibration only really starts when the car has been driven at high (legal) speed for an hour or so. When it is cold it drives really smoothly. Despite eveything the vibration won't go away. It occurs when the engine is under load, back off the accelerator and it stops immediately. The vibration is most evident under the passenger floor. The garage have checked the CV joints and they couldn't find anything wrong. Has anybody got any ideas?! Quote
Bigjeeze Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 Hi Fred It's possible that you have a duff engine mounting. I had that one of mine - IT only seemed to be there once it was warm. Shouldn't cost you anything to get that checked. Jeeze Quote
Guest SwanseaFred Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 OK - thanks. I'll get my garage to check it out. Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 Also check out the roll restrictor on the gearbox/engine and the cross member mounts? Quote
