robbieged Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 Hi can any1 help me my locking nuts have rounded and i can't get my wheels off any1 help me with this problem its on the two front wheels Quote
Marky Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 This has been covered before...Draper do a set of special sockets thatlock over the security nuts so you can take them out (kinda defeatsthe object of having them fitted in the first place!) or you can HAMMERa 19/20mm socket over the nut and remove or drive down to your localtyre place as most of these have a set of the aforementioned sockets! Most people the just replace them with standard wheelnuts so they don'thave this trouble again !!! Mauser Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Can you buy 4 standard studs ?, mine were sodden tight today. Will buy some second hand stubs if anyone got any ?.Simon Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 I've always prefered studs and nuts to bolts! the trouble you have trying to hold a wheel on and line up the holes when sticking the wheel back on! especially in the dark ;) Quote
Marky Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Totally agree VR6... Studs/bolts are available from the dealers or try the scrappies Quote
Guest stevebm1 Posted May 1, 2005 Report Posted May 1, 2005 I would have though wheel nuts are standard on most fords,so ones of a sierra, escort, transit, mondeo etc, should fit Quote
Marky Posted May 1, 2005 Report Posted May 1, 2005 Steve...have a look at your nuts next time you remove a wheel (ooherr missus)and you will find they are studs (bolts)!!! Wheel fixing to the hub varies immensley between vehicles and even between the wheels fitted !!! Quote
