hi room can any one tell me that after the engine stops theres a noise coming from the engine and its there running for a while after the car is turned off. i have ford galaxy 19 tdi zetec i put my hand towards the back of the engine and found a vibration on a part where some pipes are attached and what looks like a sensor anyone has this with theirs and should it be there thanks sharpy

The noise you can hear is the coolant circulation pump, which is there to keep coolant flowing around the block, head and turbo after you switch off - to prevent hotspots and overheateing.

Hi there is definitely a run on pump on the later TDI's it is used to slowly cool down the Turbo and head.

It's been covered here a number of times.
