Guest sharpy Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 hi room can any one tell me that after the engine stops theres a noise coming from the engine and its there running for a while after the car is turned off. i have ford galaxy 19 tdi zetec i put my hand towards the back of the engine and found a vibration on a part where some pipes are attached and what looks like a sensor anyone has this with theirs and should it be there thanks sharpy Quote
GSMGuy Posted April 29, 2005 Report Posted April 29, 2005 The noise you can hear is the coolant circulation pump, which is there to keep coolant flowing around the block, head and turbo after you switch off - to prevent hotspots and overheateing. Mike Quote
Guest sharpy Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 hi mike thanks for that just bought it and you get a little concerned when you havent had a deisel before. i also found the problem under the passenger seat it was wet and the connection of the windscreen washer was pulled out so all the water was goint to the module for the sensors but i dried it out but they still dont work so going back to the garage on tuesdaythanks for the info mate sharpy Quote

Bigjeeze Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Hi there is definitely a run on pump on the later TDI's it is used to slowly cool down the Turbo and head. It's been covered here a number of times. Quote
